NFL Week 1 Bold Predictions

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Tyrod Taylor Goes Off On His Old Team

The Ravens had the insight to draft and develop Tyrod Taylor out of Virginia Tech. But they chose to let him walk away. Now he has the opportunity to show the Ravens what he has become. Taylor has all of the tools at his disposal to go off for 300 yards on the Ravens. Sammy Watkins has the ability to wreak havoc on the Ravens defense, as does tight end Charles Clay. He will also be able to play off the play action to get big chunks of yards on passes. This weekend will be the perfect time for Taylor to make his statement and show the league what he really can do.

Cleveland Upsets Philadelphia

Cleveland is supposed to have a horrible season as they rebuild the right way this time. But this preseason showed that their is plenty of talent on this team to be able to make several games very interesting. The Eagles just traded away one of their best corners and are in a transitional period. The Browns can take advantage of this if they are able to hit on some of the big plays that they threatened the league with, in the preseason.

Chip Kelly Goes Off With His New Team

This preseason, the 49ers did not look so great but Kelly runs a well disciplined team. His offense brings the best out in its players. They showed what they were capable of doing in their last game against the Chargers. Now they face a team that has a depleted secondary with its best corner leaving for brighter lights in New York. Blaine Gabbert should be able to pick on that with this fast paced offense. Torrey Smith and Carlos Hyde should have huge games. The defense has young playmakers still that will be able to hold the sputtering Rams offense in check.

Oakland Starts Strong

The Raiders at the end of their rebuild and are ready to unleash their young team on the NFL, leaving nothing but devastation in their wake. They start their season against on a big stage in New Orleans. The saints are on the verge of a total rebuild but have managed to install some youthful talent into the team. But the Raiders are going to start their war path in New Orleans. Derek Carr and Amari Cooper should shred the horrible secondary of the Saints. Latavious Murray should also have a big game as the Raiders have a great offensive line. The Raiders defense has reached a new height and will rack up sacks and should be able to shut down the passing game.

Miami Makes A Statement

Miami has a tough matchup in week one. They face one of the best teams in the league in Seattle. They also travel to the toughest environment in the league to face the harshest defense. But with Adam Gase running the show, Tannehill should be able to attack the defense and be successful. Look for Jarvis Landry to have a big game as Tannehill should challenge Richard Sherman and the Legion of Boom early. This will open up the rushing attack for Arian Foster and Jay Ajayi. They should combine to have a big day.
